How we estimate value by condition
Every raw listing is priced from a Near Mint market price, adjusted down for the condition it’s actually in.
Market prices come from TCGplayer and reflect a Near Mint card. Most listings are raw (ungraded) cards in varying condition, so we estimate lower conditions by discounting the Near Mint market price.
| Condition | Discount | On a $100 NM card |
|---|---|---|
| NM · Near Mint | — | $100 |
| LP · Lightly Played | −15% | $85 |
| MP · Moderately Played | −25% | $75 |
| HP · Heavily Played | −40% | $60 |
| D · Damaged | −60% | $40 |
Good to know
- These are estimates, not guaranteed values. Actual sale prices vary with demand, scarcity, and the specific card.
- Graded slabs are different. A PSA, BGS, CGC, TAG or ACE card trades on its grade, not raw condition, so these discounts don't apply — and the market price above is for a raw copy, not the slab. Sellers state the value themselves; here's how to work it out.
- Condition-based pricing is standard. TCGplayer publishes separate market prices per condition, and apps like Collectr price raw and graded cards differently. The percentages above are our own estimate.
